Curious about the design and development process? On this page, I'll guide you through each step of creating your perfect website - from our initial consultation to the exciting launch day and beyond. Hopefully once you know what to expect, you can feel confident and informed right from the start.

Step 1: Project proposal

Reach out to me about your website idea and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. We'll have a chat about what you're looking for and I'll send you a free project proposal.

Step 2: Content and branding

If we decide to go ahead with the project, you'll need to send me your content and branding materials which I will use for your designs. If you're missing certain written content, I'm more than happy to help fill any gaps with the use of AI-assisted content writing.

Once I have received your all your content (including alternative text for all images), we can get started on designing the website.

Step 3: Layout and structure

Using your approved content, I'll begin creating wireframes - detailed sketches that define the layout and structure of your website. During this important phase, we'll determine the best placement of all the important elements of the site to make sure that the site is intuitive and user-friendly.

When the wireframes are finalized, I'll send them to you for review. At this stage, we'll discuss any feedback you have and implement any changes before moving forward with the design phase.

Step 4: Design mockups

Based on the wireframes, I'll begin the making the design mock-ups. When these are done, you'll receive a copy of the designs to review. We'll review your feedback, discuss potential improvements, and make any necessary adjustments to align with your vision.

Following our discussion, I'll implement any changes and deliver the final mockups for your review and formal approval before moving forward.

Step 5: Building the website

This is when I knuckle down and get coding. I'll begin building your fully-custom website using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP. During this development stage, I’ll incorporate search engine optimisation techniques and accessibility features directly into the code.

This stage will take longer than the others however I'll provide regular progress updates to keep you in the loop.

Step 6: Testing

I'll thoroughly test the site across all browsers and devices. I ensure everything functions properly, loads efficiently and fully complies with current web standards.

You'll receive exclusive access to a private test environment where you can explore all features and give your final approval before the website goes live.

Final step: Launch

Once you've given the green light, we can launch the site online. I'll connect your domain, set up web hosting, and if you’ve opted for a business email, I'll handle the setup for this too.

Your site is now live and ready to go!
